This is a sunrise over the Old Alamogordo Sawmill that was closed in 1985, the Mill was built in 1899 to cut and trim trees brought down from Lincoln National Forest in the Sacramento Mountains west of the city to provide railroad ties for the new railroad. The mill is a landmark in the city and can be seen from almost every corner of the city. The mill is now owned by the Mescalero Apache Indian Tribe.
